Once you have completed the high school concurrent emergency medical responder (EMR) course, you will be eligible to take the concurrent emergency medical technician (EMT) course.
The EMT course offers further knowledge and skills in basic life support such as first aid, oxygen administration, airway management, CPR, automated defibrillation and care for wounds, fractures and other injuries.

As a certified EMT, you will be capable of providing emergency care at the scene,
en-route or at the hospital and deal with injury and illness that result from such
emergencies.
