服务学习
As an NWACC student, 服务学习 offers you the opportunity to serve the 社区, learn, and reflect on experiential 学习 activities and projects that take place through classes or student clubs.
The 社区 服务 component includes serving the NWA area or the NWACC 社区 and may occur in partnership with a business, nonprofit or governmental organization. This 社区 服务 does not include working with political parties or religious communities, except when a charity is part of the religious 社区 and the volunteer work advances charity rather than theological purposes.
The 学习 component advances a course or program's objectives while giving assessment credit and includes 学习 about the world and gaining skills through volunteer projects directed by student organizations and academic honor societies.
The 反射 component can include journaling, paper writing, blogging, vlogging, presentations, class or group discussions, activity decompressions, artwork, poster-boarding, or private individual 反射s.
服务学习的好处
After you complete a 服务 学习 project, you will be recognized as a 服务 学习 scholar on your transcript. Those who participate in 服务 学习 projects tend to have a competitive edge when applying for scholarships, for acceptance into four-year universities, and in the job market.
Service 学习 credit can be earned within the curriculum of a professor's offerings
in a class or earned individually outside of classwork. For the latter qualification,
please contact 马特·埃文斯博士.

As a participant in 服务 学习, you must complete paperwork and keep track of
your volunteer hours throughout a 服务 学习 project. To access the paperwork,
