Join NWACC in celebrating 国际教育周 (IEW) and learn about the benefits of international and multicultural education! 活动从11月18日开始! 国际教育周 is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education.

The Land Institute is a science-based research organization working to develop an alternative to current destructive agricultural practices. Their work is dedicated to advancing perennial grain crops and polyculture farming solutions.

内容: Join us for 编织社区:全球故事,本地联系, an interactive event co-hosted by Global Studies and Weaving NWA as part of NWACC’s celebration of International Education Week. Through collaborative art-making and storytelling, we’ll explore how our personal and family histories connect to global cultures, and how these connections enrich our local community here in Northwest Arkansas.

Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to a collective collage, adding their unique story to a larger artwork that represents our shared experiences and diverse identities. Small group discussions will provide space for sharing and reflecting on cultural traditions and family stories.

The completed collage will be displayed on campus throughout the week for the community to view. Whether you stay for a few minutes or the entire event, we invite you to help us weave a tapestry of stories that celebrates the vibrant, interconnected community we share. 将提供午餐和茶点!

内容: Dr. Gesme will explore the events of the Holocaust within German-occupied Denmark and the experiences of Danes in World War II. One of the more inspiring tales involved the small nation of Denmark, which saw a societal wide effort to ensure the survival of its small Jewish population. Dr. Gesme’s talk traces Germany’s view of the nation, Denmark’s experience of German-occupation, and the nation-wide effort to save the Danish Jewish Population. This is event is sponsored by NWACC Social and Behavioral Sciences, NWACC Global Studies, and the Northwest Arkansas Holocaust Awareness project.

Canopy Northwest Arkansas, a refugee resettlement organization, will participate and showcasing projects from their Cottage Industries and Entrepreneurship Program.
